Watching My Kid Playing Sports is Time Well Spent

Hello,

The best way to spend my spare time is watching my son play hockey or soccer l really enjoy it nothing better in the world. What l like most about it is that he is doing what he wants to do and really enjoying it. He happens to be a goalie, not happy about that but his decission on Double AA Team other words Rep Hockey. The league is a very competitive League, many good future stars all trying to give it all they have and prove them selfs nite in nite out.

The thrill of watching him making a big save, keeping his team in the game is really a tough position for any young or any adult, has to be the hardest position to play. For several reason one is you never really get the credit when you're team wins but you sure get the attention from all the players and the other parents when you let in a weak goal and it cost your team the game. this is always hard on him and on myself because l am sitting with the other parents and they give you that long look, like l am here not on the ice, just trying to enjoy the game as you are.

The game has it's up's and downs you win some you lose some but being a goalie is no fun for the parents of a goalie. You can ask any parent of a goalie at the junior or professional level they still feel for their son in net. This is something they say has never changed from the first day they went in net. So why would anyone want to be a goalie in the first place. I asked my son when he was just eigh years ld why do you want to be a goalie. he looked at me and said, "Dad", l get to play the whole game, never have to sit on the bench. I looked at him, if you're having a bad game then you will be hooked from the net and the other goalie will come in and replace you. Well, "Dad", l gues l have to have a bad game for that too happen. I looked at him and said good point, and so far almost 6 years later he is yet to get the hook.

the thing that makes the game so complicated whether he is playing house league, hockey, soccer, baseball or any other sport is the parents have a way of making things hard the kids and put too much pressure on their kids. me l just enjoy watching win or lose he stay my son and all that matters and makes me happy is that he is enjoying what he loves doing.
